Terracotta Pots

Our range of terracotta pots are sourced from a small town in Turkey, which has a rich history of pottery dating back over 4000 years to the ancient times of the Hittites, who were renowned as being master terracotta artists. Their descendants have carried on this tradition right up to modern day.
Each pot is handmade either by a press mould or on a traditional manually operated potter’s wheel, using only locally sourced natural clay.
This clay gives each pot its own unique texture & colour, & no two pots are exactly alike! For a detailed view of how the whole process works from beginning to end, please feel free to view the pdf document, by clicking on the link below.
Currently, we have a range of over 15 different pots, ranging in size from a small 7cm diameter pot perfect for small plants, right up to a 40cm diameter pot, suitable for larger plants.

Terracotta, besides being a very aesthetically pleasing product to work with, due to its natural colour variations, is also a perfect product to grow plants in, & it has many advantages for the gardener and flower grower. One of the greatest is the fact that clay is completely natural, porous, and has thermal properties that make it an asset to plants. Those who use terracotta know that the porous nature of clay means you cannot easily overwater plants, the roots can breathe, and the clay itself has excellent heat retention and repellent properties. All of this adds up to better plant care.
Terracotta pots are the most traditional and often the most beautiful way to keep potted plants for your enjoyment. They are sturdy, come in a large variety, and are a very aesthetic and natural way to display your favorite plants. Our terracotta pots are even certified not to crack under adverse weather conditions, like freezing winter temperatures.
